Abstract

The archaeological map of the municipality of Recale is based on the bibliographic, epigraphic and archival documentation,
historical cartography, photointerpretation of historical aerial photos, toponymy and the extensive survey of the territory. The
data recovered allowed to reconstruct the first section of the via Regio-Capuam. Settlements dated from roman to medieval ages
and tombs dated from samnitic to roman ages have been identified. In the end, the survivals of centurial axes, that present their
evidence in the municipality, have been analysed.
