Abstract

This study explores the dichotomy between public and private streets in ancient Rome, with particular attention to the urban environment. Alongside
ancient legal sources, numerous inscriptions attest to the presence of private streets within the city. Where possible, efforts are made to pinpoint their locations
and contextualize them within the broader urban landscape.
