NEAPOLIS E IL TUMULO DELLA SIRENA: INTRODUZIONE ALLA TOPOGRAFIA STRABONIANA DEL GOLFO
Abstract
This contribution aims to illustrate the vital duality, still alive in the 6th and 5th B.C., between Partenope, which became Palaepolis, and the Roman Neapolis, which added a new, separate quarter to the ancient foundation. The two “cities” are inhabited by the same people, united by the port, protected by the eponymous siren Parthenope.
