Chi era Thefarie Velianas? I dati dell’archeologia

Abstract

This paper reviews the archaeological evidence relating to the figure of Thefarie Velianas, the political leader of the Etruscan city of Cerveteri between the late sixth and early fifth centuries B.C. mentioned in the gold tablets found at Pyrgi in 1964. These testimonies are compared with the data that can be derived from interpretations of the texts of the laminae. The result is a portrait that gives the character of Thefarie Velianas a concrete historical physiognomy.
