LA GRECITÀ IN EGITTO NELL’INNO III DI ISIDORO. NOTE LINGUISTICHE E FILOLOGICHE

Maria Antonietta Calabrò

Abstract

The third Hymn of Isidore, dedicated to the goddess Hermouthis-Isis, reflects the influence of orphic, magical
and oracular cultures, as well as the language of metrical funerary inscriptions. As in the other three Hymns, it
lacks any reference to the afterlife. It is a typical expression of temple culture, intended for a multiethnic audience.
