Abstract

The essay aims to offer a reflection on the theme of dedicatio through an analysis of the epigraphic evidence
from Pitinum Mergens, in which formulas such as ob dedicationem and cuius dedication occur. Despite representing
a peripheral municipal context, Pitinum Mergens provides significant insights into the administrative dynamics
and urban management practices that characterised the life of Roman cities, especially in the imperial period.
