I BOLLI LATERIZÎ DEL MUSEO CIVICO ARCHEOLOGICO DI CASTROVILLARI (COSENZA)

Francesco Di Vasto

Abstract

This article examines brick stamps from the Gallo Collection, preserved in the Civic Archaeological Museum of Castrovillari,
along with others from the Copia-Thurii area and Viggianello, in the province of Potenza. The stamps were impressed by the
brickworks (figlinae) of central and southern Italy, particularly from Regio III Lucania et Bruttiorum. Among these, a Castrovillari
doliare stamp published by Alfonso de Franciscis is also considered, which will be discussed again. In addition to stamps with impressed
epigraphic legends, there are also those in relief with a mark representing an 'ear of corn' on flat tiles, found in the locality
of Celimarro in the Roman villa of Camerelle. This article therefore constitutes a first essay for a catalogue of the Castrovillari
Museum stamps.
