SOME FURTHER THOUGHTS ON KU-NE AND QO-WE (MY Fu 711)

Abstract

The paper discusses the terms ku-ne and qo-we on the Mycenae record Fu 711 in the light of a recent paper by C. Varias García,
in which he suggests that these are more plausibly understood as personal names than as names of animals. Here instead it is
argued that while final certainty is impossible the terms are on balance likelier to be animal names.
